When you submit the quote form we collect: company name, contact name, email address, telephone number, country, your message and the list of products you added to your quote list. We also store a truncated IP address (the last octet is zeroed before storage) and the interface language you used.
Purpose: to prepare and send you the requested quotation and to reply to your enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
If you subscribe we collect your email address together with the text and version of the consent you gave, the page you gave it on, and the date. Subscription uses double opt-in: the address is only activated after you confirm it via the link we email you.
Purpose: sending product and technical updates. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) — your consent, withdrawable at any time via the unsubscribe link in every message.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the catalogue is used. IP anonymisation is enabled. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the service.
If you use the on-site assistant, the messages you type are transmitted to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to generate the answer shown to you. Do not enter personal or confidential data in the chat. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest in providing pre-sales support.
Your data is accessed by our sales and technical staff and by our processors: our hosting provider, our email infrastructure, Google (Analytics) and Anthropic (AI assistant). We do not sell personal data and do not share it for third-party marketing.
Personal data is kept no longer than necessary for the purposes above and for the periods required by applicable accounting and tax law. Newsletter data is kept until you withdraw consent; on unsubscribe the record is anonymised (Art. 17 GDPR).
Google and Anthropic may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers rely on the safeguards provided by those providers, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Under Articles 15–22 GDPR you may request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to info@gearmotors.net. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
